Valborg: Nekrodepression
10/12/12 || jaimeviejo
Woke up this morning and it was raining. I hate rain. I ran to the
kitchen and I felt that the house was cold, extremely cold. The weather
is changing. My mind is changing. I just don’t wanna do anything today.
Hopefully some Valborg will help.
“Nekrodepression” just digs the hole of your misery deeper. Desperate
cries, steady drum beats and monolithic riffs are all surrounded by an
aura of desolation and tons of atmospheres. I love the production of it,
it is just so crunchy. This is a weird band, they are basically a
depressive doom band but in some of the previous albums they have this
kind of progressive synth-power metal-rock ideas going on that are very
disturbing and confusing (see I Am Space or Samantha Alive).
This album is more on the vein of “Glorification of Pain” (2009), so if
you want some mid tempo depressive metal that is not as punishing as
Evoken, give them a chance.
7/10: When I’m in the mood nobody can stop me.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
