PostHumanBigBang: PostHumanBigBang
02/03/12 || BamaHammer
Obviously, I don’t know much of anything about PostHumanBigBang, but I do know that this brand of direction-less metal is just not for me. It’s not necessarily bad or poorly performed or poorly written. In fact, it clearly took a lot of forethought and songwriting prowess to churn out stuff that sounds like this. The problem, I feel, is that the bad has no idea what they want to be, and the result is an album that is absolutely all over the place. Occasionally, they lay down some really groovy proggy death metal, but then they inexplicably flip the “Ozzy mode” switch and try to remake “Bark at the moon.” But that’s not all. Other times they try to sound experimentally instrumental only to ruin it with clean vocals that are, to be blunt, fucken lousy. The absolute worst moments are those rare occasions where the band slips into something-core mode and lays down breakdowns complete with tough-guy growls. It’s not all bad though, but these clearly talented fuckos need decide who they are.
5/10: And feel free to hit the FuckenSpaceBar once in a while.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
