Motörhead: Motörizer

06/08/08  ||  Euthanatos

1975. That was when Motörhead was formed by the almighty, the great one, the everlasting Lemmy. Yeah, he was already old back then. He was born old. Lemmy created the universe. He is the father of us all. “Motörizer” is not only Motörhead’s new album, it is their 20th album. That, my friends, is fucking metal.

Now sure, Motörhead have had their ups and downs, like everyone. But the last few albums have been fucking destroyers, “Inferno” particularly. So, yes, I was psyched to see what they had to offer in “Motörizer”.

See, it’s quite obvious I’m not writing this review for those who have never heard of Motörhead (which is almost an impossibility, even if you don’t like metal), or even those who don’t care for them. Everyone knows what Motörhead sounds like. They’ve been doing this for almost 40 years. They’ve never changed an ounce, it’s always been, and will always be, ballsy rock, heavy as fuck, blues-influenced, drowned in alcohol, reeking of pussy juice, fast and aggressive.

So enough fucking about. Is “Motörizer” the shit? It is, it is. While not as good as “Inferno”, it’s still entertaining as fuck. “(Teach You How) to Sing the Blues” pays homage to an obvious, age-old influence. “When the Eagle Screams” is quintessential Motörhead. “Rock Out” is so awesome it makes my balls want to explode. It’s so fucking fast and rocking you just want to rape your mother senseless. “One Short Life” is sleazy as hell, total blues, something that Motörhead does beautifully. “Buried Alive” is another fast-as-fuck-drill-your-butt rocker. God damn, this is good stuff.

I suppose I also don’t have to mention how good Phil Campbell and especially Mikkey Dee are. Together with Lemmy’s unmistakable, never tiring voice, this incredible trio will never cease to amaze me. Learn the lesson, boys and girls. Learn the motherfucking lesson right here.

The cover: This is fucking Motörhead, bitch!

8 rock out!!!! out of 10.
