ID:Vision: Plazmadkaos

27/11/08  ||  Euthanatos

You know that weird ass band, The Berzerker? Well, some other fruit cake decided mixing dance music with metal was a good idea, so here is ID: Vision, much to my dismay. Ironically, though, this is actually much better than The Berzerker.

First of all, it isn’t actually dance music. It’s… something. It sounds a lot more like a video game soundtrack on speed than anything else. And the metal parts of it are really metal, so that’s also interesting. There are shitloads, I mean, truckloads of elements in this, and it kind of makes my head hurt just trying to figure them all out. Everything is so fast and fucking frenetic, I’m pretty sure this band is on ecstasy at all times. Normal human beings can’t do this. Extreme metal with electronic and industrial bits, all laced with heavy drugs and a touch of insanity. I think that’s how I would define ID: Vision. And you can’t really compare them with anyone else. There’s just not anything like it. There couldn’t be. The world would explode.

So, all in all, does all that mean this album is good or bad? It’s hard to tell. I can definitely see some people, particularly those into the more industrial metal scene, fans of Ministry and the like, enjoying this. Most people? You would have to taste, before you swallow. It’s just too extreme.

But, let no man call me unfair; ID: Vision sure know what the fuck they’re doing, it’s all quality and the only thing missing is perhaps a better production. With some accomplished and pretentious prick at the knob-turning, these guys could go far. Or kill themselves in the process.

The cover: Boy, is this appropriate.

6 schizophrenic dancing ravers out of 10.
