Fitcage: Pigumanity

09/08/10  ||  Lord K Philipson

After reviewing the absolute asylum called Scrambled Defuncts a little while ago I am now forced to go head to head with their Russian colleagues and label mates Fitcage, a death/grind band with 19 muthafucken tunes on this here album. God, help us all.

First of all, I don’t like grind. Second of all, I fucken hate pig-vocals. I also hate extremely low and meaningless growls that make no impression whatsoever. On top of that I hate productions where you can’t hardly make out a fucken riff. And last off I fucken hate irritating snare sounds.

This album’s got it all, thank you very much.

On the upside of things – this isn’t complete shit despite all of the problems mentioned above. It’s ok death/grind (meaning it comes across as somewhat tight and well-played for most parts) that drives thru your speakers in a steady pace, sounding the same all the time. Then again, it’s not like the death/grind scene is known for re-inventing itself every second day.

If this particular style is your piece of pie, you’ll like Fitcage. Me? I don’t give much of a shit. The album title is cool though. But I still don’t give a shit.
