Annihilator: Metal

“Downright dominate” is a killer title, for obvious reasons. Annihilator is not a killer one-man band (you know what I mean) though. Jeff Waters’ specific style of writing and playing feels as dated as your childhood girlfriend. And about as fucken ugly. You know two things you’ll always get with a release from Annihilator: the trademark guitar squeals and flashy solos. Oh, and a third thing: awful vocals. No matter who sings.
Yep, it’s all here as well, if anyone thought differently.
This kind of music is about as fucken fun and interesting as inserting the moon into yer anus. Or the sun into yer penis. That’s an analogy if there ever was one.
Either way, Annihilator’s music is completely superfluous to the metal world. Not to mention some of their fantastic lyrics… Just listen to “Army of one”. It’s beyond me how people like Alexi Laiho, Danko Jones, Michael Amott and Angela Gossow, Jeff Loomis, Jesper Strömblad and Anders Björler (among others) agreed to be a part of this shit-fest.
The production is about as hot as my fridge. The drums sound rectum and the actual drumming is as groovy as a fucken stick in a casket.
Put on their somewhat decent debut, “Penis in hell” (actually, listen to the track “Alison Hell” and sing “Penis in hell” instead of the real lyrics, it works like a charm!), smile at the memories it brings back (hopefully some good ones) and then send Jeff Waters a e-mail that tells him to go fuck himself. Then demand that he sends Dave Mistake of Megadeth another video of him playing Megadeth solos. Those clips are definitely fine comedy.
Remember when Jeff claimed that he is the world’s fastest guitarist when it comes to downstrokes? Use those strokes for some serious penis yanking on yer friends, coz it ain’t doing anything good music wise.
